Wow – Zen Masters in Professions

We have all become Zen Masters – 500 – in our professions now. And we have all worked together to make some high level cloth and mail armor. Cloth armor is the most important since those of us who wear cloth depend on it to keep us safe from attacks. When we go to Pandaria soon, this will be very important for our safety.

Margrog, our Zen Master blacksmith, has made powerful plate armor and weapons for himself and Adamithus, our paladin brother.

Cloth and Mail armor was time consuming to build since it requires some exotic materials. Stormvein had to train in tailoring to level 525, and the patterns cost 10 Embersilk cloth bolts each. Each bolt is 5 Embersilk cloth. To there are many hours of farming in Deepholm to get the cloth to purchase the patterns and make the armor for two of us. Stormvein has the most powerful demon helper, so he will be the last to get his armor.

Candravia had to train to high levels and we provided her with Savage Leather and Blackened Dragonscale for mail armor for Kweezlix. She already has powerful armor from her quests in Pandaria.

Farming Exotic Materials

These Vicious Embersilk armor pieces require Volatile Fire and Volatile Water as materials. Volatile Fire can be fished in Mount Hyjal in one of the most interesting places in the game: the lava pools in front of the Sulfurion Spire.

Fishing is unlike any of the other professions since you can catch high level items even if you are just starting out as a fisherman. Both Thalmatos and Stormvein started fishing in this spot. The circle of fire in the lava is a “pool” where the Volatile fire is caught. We started out as apprentice fisherman, but if we cast our bobbers into the fire pool, we pulled 1 or 2 volatile fire out with each cast until the pool was depleted, after 6-10 items. There are several pools and they respawn after a few minutes, so after about half an hour we could catch about 40 Volatile Fires required for two sets of armor.

Farming Volatile Water was a normal case of killing some creature, in this case Muddy Water Elementals in Twilight Highlands. However, it required a lot of work since the drop rate was low at about 13%. So on average only 1 Volatile Water was obtained for each 7.7 Elementals that were killed. Most of this work was done by Candravia since she needed the water too for her Vicious Dragonscale Mail Armor for Kweezlix.

Kweezlix is an accomplished hunter who will eventually train as an Engineer. Now he a Zen Master skinner. In preparation for his going to Pandaria, he needs powerful Vicious Dragonscale armor and Candravia can make this armor with her Zen Master Leatherworking skills. The blackened dragonscale and Savage Leather were both obtained in a place where dragons are being felled by giants throwing boulders. The dragons are stunned for a few seconds and can be picked off while they are on the ground. Skinning them gets both Blackened Dragonscale and Savage Leather which are needed for this armor.

Terrorpene

While Stormvein was fishing, he saw the extremely rare turtle pet, Terrorpene. So Kweezlix came along and was able to tame it. So now Kweezlix has the rare pet.

Terrorpene is a very rare lava turtle that is only found in the lava pools surrounding the Sulfurion Spire.

Bags and Other Items

Both Stormvein and Candravia have been able to make bags and other items for the team with their high level skills. Adramaden needs both Herb and Inscription bags and Hemomage needs Jewlery and Enchanting bags. These bags hold many more items than normal bags and can be easily made by high level tailors and leatherworkers.
