After the mouse ran away, I got a gerbil at Noah’s Arc here in North Bend. They had one that was light brown and white. All the others were speckled black and white. Apparently he/she is about 3 weeks old. We’ll see if he/she grows very much.
Update: The mouse got out of the cage… Guess its head was smaller than some gap in the bars.

I’m using Spinrite 6 to recover a failed hard drive. Not sure if I should expect it to make progress or whether it’s obviously stuck.
I started it in recovery mode.
Do these screens show that Spinrite is stuck, or should I give it much more time?
It seems to be trying over 2000 times to recover the same sector.
Back in 2008 I built a small VIA based system for a photo frame. Just checking on recent Mini-ITX system produced some interesting results. For about the same cost as the Blue-Diamond system back in 2008 the current systems have dual core Atom n510 systems with 2GB ram and 160GB SATA HD.
Wow. There is a new HD Camcorder from Sanyo that is waterproof to 3m.

Now I can take a camera on a hike to the beach and not get sand in it. Now I can take a camcorder out in the storm and take pictures without ruining it in the rain.
